MUN CLUB

Model UN is a popular activity for those interested in learning more about how the UN operates. Hundreds of thousands of students worldwide take part every year at all educational levels.

Before a conference, participants are assigned to be on a certain committee of the UN, representing a nation as a delegate. Each conference has an agenda or issue. The conference aims to solve that issue through debate and discussion. The chairperson concludes the conference after a resolution to solve the problem is passed.

Objective of the MUN Club :

  • Bodhi MUN Club guides and teaches students how to make their simulations more accurate by sending the student delegation to Model UN conferences happening in the town and around; sharing first-hand knowledge of what the actual UN is like; and encouraging Model UN clubs to take real action to support UN values and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

At BIS, the training of the students starts from Grade 6 onward to attend the simulations and discussions.

Students who opt for the club hone their skills and benefit from the following areas:

  • Debating and public speaking
  • Broadening perspectives on current affairs
  • Building leadership through negotiation
  • Sharpening negotiation and lobbying
  • Creating phenomenal position papers
